Project Story
Community solar allows homeowners, renters, and businesses to receive all the benefits of renewable energy without the cost or hassle of installing panels on your own property. 100% of the project's clean energy goes into the Central Maine Power grid system, is used by your community, and saves subscribers up to 15% on their electricity bills. An estimated 74 MW of solar across 11 projects located in: Augusta, Belfast, Corinna, Edgecomb, Old Town, Pittsfield, Readfield, Troy, Wiscasset & Waldoboro are now being developed and all Central Maine Power customers are encouraged to participate. By subscribing to Community Solar, you are directly supporting Maine's Renewable Portfolio Standard goal of securing 100% of its renewables by 2050.
